Job Description :

We looking for a strong workers compensation defense Attorney motivated for their next opportunity in a very fun and hi-tech work comp environment. The proper candidate will have experience in work comp defense for minimum 6 years and excellent communication skills, strong desire in litigation and a desire to learn workers compensation from the best in the business. We have a work from home environment but must be able to travel to the WCAB for the mandated hearings. Must be in good standing with CA State Bar and have a CA Bar license.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Manage a caseload of workers' compensation defense matters from assignment through resolution.

  • Represent clients at Workers' Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB) hearings, conferences, and trials.

  • Prepare and draft legal pleadings, petitions, motions, and legal correspondence.

  • Conduct legal research and case analysis to develop strong litigation strategies.

  • Take and defend depositions of claimants, medical professionals, and other witnesses.

  • Communicate regularly with clients, insurance carriers, claims adjusters, and opposing counsel regarding case developments.

  • Prepare case evaluations, status reports, and litigation plans for clients.

  • Negotiate settlements and participate in mediation or alternative dispute resolution proceedings.

  • Ensure compliance with California workers' compensation laws, regulations, and procedural requirements.
