Job description

Weyerhaeuser is currently looking for an experienced individual to provide leadership for reliability and site process improvements for our lumber facility in Greenville, NC. As a Reliability Manager, you will focus on driving positive results in terms of safety, quality, reliability, and cost by training and leading our teams to understand and execute reliability maintenance practices at the excellence level. This position reports to the Maintenance Superintendent.

Key Functions

  • Role model our safety standards and on-the-job behavior by living our core principles of integrity; fairness, creating a positive, inclusive work environment, and ensuring open communication among leaders and associates
  • Lead and champion our elements of the reliability plan to include Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), PM optimization, oil analysis, vibration, infrared thermal imaging, alignment, balancing, and lubrication
  • Keep current with new equipment and technology and updated maintenance methods
  • Learn and appreciate the importance of service quality, service delivery and flawless job execution
  • Coach others on process improvement techniques and skills
  • Actively assess opportunities to incorporate predictive maintenance techniques and technology into current equipment maintenance strategies
  • Actively use business systems to analyze the effectiveness of technical solutions and capture knowledge sharing
  • Actively work on capital improvements
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D
  • Minimum of five (5) years senior maintenance related and/or process reliability experience in an industrial environment
  • Previous experience with project management, including capital projects
  • Proven commitment to safety and safety initiatives
  • Evident business leadership skills with the ability to clearly communicate vision and strategy to various audiences
  • Collaborative and inclusive leadership style
  • Ability to develop and nurture strong relationships
  • Strong analytical, planning, organizational and time management skills
  • Strong decision and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently without close supervision
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with reliable maintenance methods
  • Experience with a computerized maintenance system (e.g., SAP)
  • Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical and basic PLC programming/troubleshooting (preferably Allen Bradley)
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes
  • Willingness to work weekends and holidays when operating conditions require
  • Ability to perform essential job functions of working in a 24/7 operating facility, which includes the ability to work in extreme temperatures and be ambulatory in an industrial environment with catwalks and uneven surfaces

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering or related discipline 
  • 5 Years Plant Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Maintenance Engineering or Reliability Engineering experience
  • Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP), or equivalent or ability to obtain and hold certification from an accredited institution or industry-recognized source that include: 
    • Manufacturing Reliability Practices and/or Leadership Vibration: ISO Cat I and Cat II Vibration Analysis
    • Lubrication: MLT I/ MLA I and MLA II
  • Experience in saw mill manufacturing
  • Competent practitioner of LEAN process optimization practices and uses these skills to participate in and lead LEAN continuous improvement projects
  • Knowledge of Access or Oracle, SAP, MS Schedule, MS Project, or other scheduling software

What We Offer: 

Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $81,313-$121,970 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 10% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Benefits: When you join our team, you and your dependents will be offered coverage under our comprehensive employee benefits plan, which includes medical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, and life insurance.  We offer a pre-tax Health Savings Account option which includes a company contribution.  Other benefit options are also available such as voluntary Long-Term Care and Employee Assistance Programs. We also support personal volunteerism, sponsor a host of diversity networks, promote mentoring, and provide training and development opportunities to help you chart your path to a fulfilling career. 

Retirement: Employees are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our contribution equal to 5% of your eligible pay.

Paid Time Off or Vacation: We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours and paid parental leave for all full-time employees.
