Regional Sales Engineer – Machine Tools
Location: Covering the Eastern North Carolina territory
Reports to: Regional General Manager

Makino is a global leader in metal-cutting and machining technology, serving industries such as automotive, aerospace, medical, and die/mold. Our machines drive the production of the world’s most precise and innovative components. This position will cover primarily the NC territory.
Position Overview
As a Machine Tool Regional Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for driving profitable growth of Makino’s advanced machine tool solutions within your assigned territory. This role blends technical expertise with strong business development and relationship-building skills to deliver value to customers and expand Makino’s market share.
Key Responsibilities
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, while actively identifying and securing new business opportunities.
  • Assess customer manufacturing challenges and recommend tailored solutions utilizing Makino’s CNC technologies.
  • Manage the complete sales cycle, including prospecting, presentations, closing, and post-sale follow-up.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to maintain a competitive advantage.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth installation and high customer satisfaction.
  • Represent Makino at regional and national trade shows.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated success in technical or capital equipment sales, preferably within the machine tool industry.
  • Strong technical aptitude and confidence in discussing complex manufacturing solutions.
  • Self-motivated with excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Salesforce and SAP is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the assigned territory.
