Essential Functions
  • Review credits to determine if a refund is due to insurance.
  • Review credits to determine if a refund is due to the patient.
  • Understand how to read an Explanation of Benefits (EOB).
  • Understand allowables.
  • Work line items and apply credits and debits appropriately.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures, including HIPAA regulations.
  • Communicate trends or issues with payers.
  • Assist with other areas of receipts processing as needed.
Qualifications

Two (2) years of payment refunds experience, with collections, billing, and/or registration experience in a healthcare or insurance setting being a plus, OR any combination of equivalent education and experience. Typing skills with a minimum of 35 wpm and good communication skills are required.

Physical Requirements

(MediumMax 25lbs): up to 25 lbs, 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 25 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs.
