Job description

Job Title: VDC Reality Capture Technician Responsibilities:
  • Data Collection: Utilize reality capture technologies such as laser scanners, drones, and 3D cameras to collect accurate spatial data from construction sites.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, BIM (Building Information Modeling) coordinators, and other stakeholders to ensure data accuracy and project requirements are met.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of data collection processes and results, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and accessible.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct quality checks on captured data to ensure it meets the required standards and specifications.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support and training to team members on the use of reality capture tools and software.
  • Travel: Travel to various project sites as needed to perform data capture tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Previous experience with reality capture technologies and data processing software (e.g., Autodesk ReCap, Leica Cyclone, Faro Scene).
  • Skills: Strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with BIM software (e.g., Autodesk Revit, Navisworks) and other relevant tools.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Strong experience in 3D laser scanning, possess a FAA Part 107 Certification for UAV (drone) operations.
This role is crucial for ensuring accurate and efficient data collection and processing, which supports the overall success of construction and design projects. Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to perform physical activities such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, and handling materials.
  • Must be able to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
  • Capable of standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • This is an onsite position.
