Job Overview:
APTIM is seeking a Digital Delivery Manager to lead and expand our enterprise CAD/BIM, GIS, and Reality Capture programs. This strategic leadership role will drive the technologies, standards, and workflows that support project delivery across multiple engineering disciplines and business units.
The successful candidate will build and mentor a high-performing team of designers and geospatial specialists while leading initiatives that improve efficiency, quality, collaboration, and innovation across the organization.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Digital Delivery Leadership
  • Develop, implement, and maintain company-wide CAD and BIM standards, procedures, templates, libraries, and workflows.
  • Establish quality assurance and quality control processes for digital deliverables.
  • Promote consistency and efficiency across all offices, disciplines, and market sectors.
  • Lead and coordinate a team of digital delivery subject matter experts across multiple design platforms and disciplines (eg. AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, SolidWorks, MicroStation)
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement improvements in software, workflows, and digital delivery practices.
  • Lead adoption of emerging technologies, automation tools, and industry best practices.

GIS & Reality Capture Program Leadership
  • Develop and maintain standards, workflows, and best practices for GIS and Reality Capture services.
  • Provide strategic oversight and governance for the collection, processing, management, and integration of:
    • GIS datasets
    • LiDAR data
    • Point clouds
    • Drone imagery
    • Photogrammetry products
    • Digital terrain models
    • Reality meshes
  • Ensure proper integration of GIS and Reality Capture data into engineering and design workflows.
  • Support project teams in selecting the appropriate technology, software, and equipment for project-specific applications.

Team Leadership & Talent Development
  • Directly supervise CAD/BIM Designers and GIS/Reality Capture Specialists.
  • Manage workload distribution, staffing assignments, and utilization.
  • Improves efficiency and balance workload demands.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and establish individual development plans.
  • Mentor staff and support technical growth, certifications, and career advancement.
  • Participate in recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and succession planning activities.

Technology Strategy & Investment
  • Maintain accountability for GIS and Reality Capture equipment inventory and deployment.
  • Manage equipment maintenance, calibration, licensing, upgrades, and replacement planning.
  • Coordinate software licensing and technology investments related to digital delivery and geospatial services.
  • Develop annual technology and capital investment recommendations.
  • Ensure optimal utilization of company technology assets.

Project Delivery Excellence
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and subject matter coordination to project teams facing complex digital delivery, GIS, and Reality Capture challenges.
  • Participate in project planning and digital delivery strategy development.
  • Assist project managers with staffing forecasts and resource planning.
  • Collaborate with discipline leaders to improve project execution and deliverable quality.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies including automation, digital twins, AI-enabled workflows, advanced visualization, and data integration tools to improve project delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for digital delivery and geospatial technology initiatives.

Innovation & Digital Transformation
  • Monitor industry trends, technologies, and client expectations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and profitability through technology.
  • Lead implementation of new software, workflows, and digital delivery initiatives.
  • Support business development efforts by showcasing the company's digital delivery and reality capture capabilities.
  • Help position the company as a leader in engineering technology, geospatial services, and digital project delivery.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, GIS, Geomatics, Surveying, Architecture, Construction Management, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in CAD, BIM, GIS, Reality Capture, Digital Delivery, Engineering Technology, or related disciplines.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading technical teams and resources.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing standards, workflows, and best practices.
  • Experience supporting engineering and geospatial workflows using industry-standard CAD, BIM, GIS, and collaboration platforms is required. Experience with Autodesk, Bentley, Esri, and related technology ecosystems is preferred.
  • Experience working with cloud-based collaboration tools such as AutoDesk Construction Cloud (ACC)/Forma.
  • Strong understanding of engineering project delivery processes.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and support diverse business units.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Industry certifications such as GIS Professional (GISP), FAA Part 107, Autodesk Certified Professional, or similar.
  • Experience managing enterprise-wide CAD/BIM, GIS or Digital Delivery programs.
  • Familiarity with Autodesk, Bentley, Esri, and cloud-based collaboration platforms:
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate, implement, and support emerging technologies in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
  • Experience supporting multidisciplinary engineering, infrastructure, water, transportation, energy, or federal projects.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range for this position is $170,000 to $200,000 a year. Compensation depends on several factors including: experience, education, key skills, geographic location of the position, client requirements, external market competitiveness, and internal equity among other employees within APTIM.
