Job description

Description:

The Material Handler is responsible for the safe and efficient handling of all materials throughout the plant. This includes shipping and receiving, packaging finished products at the end of extrusion lines, loading raw plastic at the beginning of extrusion lines, and ensuring timely movement of materials between departments to support continuous production.

  • Shipping & Receiving
  • Receive incoming raw materials and verify against purchase orders.
  • Prepare and stage outgoing shipments, ensuring proper documentation and labeling.
  • Extrusion Line Support
  • Load raw plastic feedstock at the start of extrusion lines.
  • Package finished products at the end of extrusion lines.
  • Material Handling
  • Move materials between production areas using forklifts or other equipment.
  • Maintain organized storage areas and ensure proper inventory rotation.
  • Documentation
  • Complete shipping, receiving, and inventory records accurately.
  • Safety & Maintenance
  • Follow all safety protocols, including PPE and forklift operation standards.
  • Inspect forklifts and material handling equipment daily; report issues promptly
Requirements:

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid forklift certification and experience required.
  • 1–2 years of experience in material handling, shipping/receiving, or warehouse operations.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions and safety guidelines.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced industrial environment.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
