Job description

Material Control Analyst
Materials Management Department
Position Summary:
The Material Control Analyst manages the ordering and movement of materials end to end while identifying underperforming areas in the supply chain by analyzing costs, capacity, and demand patterns. Continuously reviews and assesses inventory levels based on demand forecasting, historical data, and supplier capabilities to identify sources of problems to develop suggestions for solutions. Identifies performance deficiencies, compliance concerns, and areas for improvement in the supply chain to support root cause analysis and formulate actionable solutions with the supply base to maintain positive results. Designs and organizes reports to provide relative data to all stakeholders and may assist in the negotiation of contract arrangements. This role has a direct impact on production results and overall financial strength to both Subaru and its supplier base and a strong influence on the overall cost per unit.
Outline of duties:
  • Assess and oversee supply chain strengths and opportunities.
  • Analyze complex data and develop insights optimizing supply chain capabilities.
  • Analyze supply impacts to future production, develops countermeasures and communicates the concerns, decisions, and results of the decision to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Identify demand pattern gaps and adjust ordering parameters to achieve positive results.
  • Maintain and develop supplier standards that enhance the capabilities and production/financial results for both SIA and the supply base.
  • Assess supplier's performance based off SIA standards for discrepancies and improvement opportunities that can directly impact production / financial results.
  • Develop actionable improvement plans and follow up directly with suppliers through onsite auditing and coaching to ensure a positive outcome for both SIA and the supply base.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels to meet JIT demands and maintain production and cost targets.
  • Manage changepoints in forecast, production modifications, and supply chain disruptions while championing continuous improvement.
  • Assesses future model changeover activity as it relates to new and obsolete part designs. Takes ownership of new part delivery and system creation for ownership transfer to mass production.
  • All other duties as assigned by the Manager or Group Leader.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate Degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field plus 1 - 3 years of relevant experience, or verifiable experience in a supply chain/manufacturing environment for 5+ years
  • Experience in end-to-end supply chain operations, including supplier management, internal and external logistics, inventory control, and component parts management.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or 5+ years relevant experience.
    • Supply Chain Management or related field
