  • Serve as the primary technical resource during the quotation process, providing engineering guidance and technical recommendations to support customer and business requirements.
  • Identify technical and commercial risks that may impact cost, manufacturability, lead time, or successful execution of customer requirements.
  • Recommend alternative materials, tolerances, processes, or design improvements that improve manufacturability, reduce cost, shorten lead times, or mitigate technical risk while meeting customer requirements.
  • Develop and maintain quotation documentation, bills of material, drawings, and documented exceptions required to support the quoting process.
  • Organize and document quotation assumptions, supply chain quotations, make-versus-buy decisions, manufacturing plans, and related technical information to ensure a smooth handoff to the New Product Introduction (NPI) team.
  • Support new product introductions, engineering changes, and continuous improvement initiatives to improve quotation accuracy, consistency, and manufacturing capability.
  • Monitor quote turnaround metrics and support continuous improvement initiatives to improve responsiveness, consistency, and overall quote quality.
  • Provide technical support to internal and external stakeholders throughout the quotation process.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, engineering principles, cost estimation, and optical drawing standards, including ISO 10110, preferred.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to evaluate manufacturability and balance technical requirements with business objectives.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with SolidWorks preferred.

  • 3-5 years of engineering, applications engineering, technical quoting, estimating, or related manufacturing experience.
  • Experience supporting engineered-to-order manufacturing preferred.
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), bills of material, and technical documentation preferred.
  • Experience within precision manufacturing, optics, photonics, semiconductor, aerospace, or other highly engineered manufacturing environments preferred.

Working Conditions
