This role will establish standardized processes, improve quote speed and accuracy, and enhance the overall effectiveness of the sales organization. The Director will lead a high-performing team focused on delivering timely, high-quality quotes to support field sales teams, who in turn set expectations with end customers.
This position requires a strong sense of urgency, deep understanding of construction and finished goods, and the ability to leverage systems, automation, and emerging technologies to drive scalable solutions.
This role is critical to enabling scalable growth by transforming how Construction Resources delivers quoting and estimating support-driving speed, accuracy, and consistency across a decentralized sales organization. • Partner with Sales leadership on pricing governance, margin expectations, and approval frameworks to ensure quotes align with company objectives

Sales Support & Customer Responsiveness
  • Support field sales teams as the primary internal customer, recognizing their role in setting expectations with the end customer
  • Operate with a high sense of urgency to meet tight timelines and customer commitments
  • Identify and remove bottlenecks that impact the speed and effectiveness of the sales cycle
  • Maintain strong alignment with Sales leadership to support revenue growth and execution

Technology & Process Optimization
  • Identify and implement systems, tools, and automation to improve quoting efficiency and scalability
  • Evaluate and introduce advanced solutions, including AI-driven tools, to enhance estimating accuracy and throughput
  • Partner with IT and business leaders on system enhancements and integrations
  • Drive continuous process improvement initiatives across the quoting lifecycle

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with Sales, Operations, Sourcing, and Production teams to ensure feasibility, timing, and alignment on quotes
  • Facilitate clear communication across teams to support efficient order execution
  • Support new product launches, pricing updates, and operational changes

Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead and develop a team of approximately 2-4 associates initially, with responsibility to scale as the function expands
  • Establish clear roles, performance expectations, and accountability measures
  • Foster a team culture centered on responsiveness, collaboration, and customer service
  • Build strong interpersonal relationships across field leadership to support adoption and trust

Performance Management & Reporting
  • Develop and monitor KPIs related to quote turnaround time, accuracy, volume, and conversion
  • Provide regular reporting and insights to leadership on performance and improvement opportunities
  • Use data-driven insights to drive operational and strategic decisions

SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE LOOKS LIKE:
  • Reduced quote turnaround time and improved responsiveness to field sales teams
  • Increased quote accuracy and consistency across markets and categories
  • Strong adoption and trust from field sales and leadership
  • Improved quote-to-order conversion rates
  • Scalable processes and systems that support business growth

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Basic Qualifications
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in construction, building materials, distribution, or a related environment
  • 3+ years of leadership experience

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships across field leadership
  • Proven ability to build, standardize, and scale processes or functions in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Experience supporting multi-location or multi-category businesses with complex product offerings

Preferred Qualifications
  • This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in building new processes and functions from the ground up, rather than operating within a fully mature environment
  • Direct experience in estimating, bidding, or managing quotes within construction or finished goods environments
  • Experience supporting or partnering closely with sales teams in a service-driven model
  • Exposure to CRM, ERP, quoting systems, or pricing tools
  • Experience implementing process automation or AI-driven solutions
