HilltopSecurities is currently looking to hire an Operations Specialist to support Cost Basis.  The Cost Basis Specialist is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and completion of cost basis and tax lot reporting for all accounts maintained by HilltopSecurities.  The Operations group is a collection of sub-departments which is responsible for everything after an account is opened or a trade occurs. The Operations group's responsibilities include opening customer accounts, account maintenance, receiving and delivering money and securities to customers, and many more.

  • 1-2 years of Cost Basis experience preferred, within the financial services industry.
  • Knowledge of FIS and Wall Street a plus, but not required
  • Knowledge of basic security industry terminology and financial markets a plus.
  • Customer focused with effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Detail oriented with the ability to prioritize workload to meet daily deadlines
  • Able to work additional hours and/or flexible shift assignments when needed

  • Review and reconcile cost basis reports through BetaNTX Maxit, FIS, Wall Street
  • Assist with gifted/inherited updates, adding missing cost or custom pairing adjustments
  • Update Cost Basis due to Corporate Actions and Options
  • Perform Internal Cost Movements
  • Review and explain fixed income cost basis adjustments
  • Assist with General Inquiries/Salesforce Cases
  • Reviews and maintains quality data in cost basis system to facilitate complete and accurate information reporting.
