Quote Specialist
Position Summary
The Quote Specialist is responsible for preparing accurate, timely, and competitive quotations while serving as an active contributor to the company's commercial growth initiatives. Working closely with Business Development, Engineering, Operations, and customers, this role helps convert opportunities into orders through responsive estimating, proactive customer engagement, and outbound business development support.
The ideal candidate is analytical, customer-focused, and motivated to contribute beyond the quoting process by supporting lead generation and helping identify new business opportunities.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Prepare accurate and timely quotations based on customer specifications, engineering drawings, and project requirements.
  • Review requests for quotation (RFQs) and coordinate with Engineering, Operations, and Sales to develop complete commercial proposals.
  • Maintain quotation files, pricing documentation, and supporting records.
  • Follow up on outstanding quotations with customers and Business Development Managers to improve quote conversion.
  • Support outbound lead generation efforts through prospect research, customer outreach, follow-up campaigns, and targeted business development initiatives.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to expand business within existing customer accounts and develop new customer relationships.
  • Participate in trade shows, customer events, marketing campaigns, and other commercial outreach activities as required.
  • Maintain customer and opportunity information within CRM/Salesforce.
  • Generate estimating, quotation, and sales activity reports as needed.
  • Recommend improvements to estimating processes, quotation quality, and overall commercial responsiveness.
  • Provide outstanding internal and external customer service while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Two or more years of estimating, quotations, inside sales, technical sales support, or customer service experience within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience using CRM software (Salesforce preferred).
