What it's like to be a Purchasing Manager at Purchasing Manager

As the Purchasing Manager at Woodhaven Furniture, your role will be pivotal in driving cost reduction initiatives with our supply base to meet quarterly and annual targets while tracking and validating savings. You will maintain optimal inventory levels and reorder points for our manufacturing plants, utilizing ERP systems and Excel to lead network inventory reductions. This position involves training and evaluating purchasing planners, facilitating effective use of procurement tools to reduce inventory levels. You will identify slow-moving and obsolete inventory for final disposition and create essential purchasing analytics and key performance indicator data. Additionally, you will address quality issues related to defective materials, document key purchasing processes, and maintain the pricing and part number file in the ERP system.

Your leadership will extend to overseeing inventory transfers, conducting cycle counts, and ensuring adherence to the 5S storage strategy across our facilities, all while filling in for plant purchasing planners as needed.

What matters most

To thrive as a Purchasing Manager at Woodhaven Furniture, you will need a robust skill set that aligns with our dedication to quality and efficiency. A BS degree is preferred, though equivalent experience may be considered.
