Company Description

Standard Distributing Company is the oldest and largest wholesale beer distributor in Delaware with a warehouse/office facility in New Castle. Founded in 1933,Standard is owned and operated by the third generation of the Tigani family. Standard Distributing represents many nationally known brewers and importers of beer and non-alcoholic beverage. We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Purchasing Administrative Assistant to join our Purchasing team. In this vital role, you will support the sourcing, purchasing, and inventory management processes that keep our supply chain running smoothly. Your proactive approach and organizational skills will help ensure timely procurement of materials, effective vendor negotiations, and seamless coordination across departments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced environment where your efforts directly impact operational efficiency and business success.


Role Description includes but not limited to:

  • Daily printing, sorting and distribution Miller/Coors/Brewhouse/Pabst mail.
  • Print, verify accuracy and approve Molson/Coors and other supplier invoices.
  • Enter and assign PO numbers for Stateside orders in GP
  • Analytics and keep updated.
  • Process monthly depletion billbacks to suppliers.
  • Prepare BOL for returns/transfers to suppliers.
  • Contact carriers regarding scheduled orders, missing orders in system or PO numbers from warehouse.
  • Receive supplier credits, match invoices and code for AR.
  • Invoice all product damage to orders to appropriate supplier and attach signed BOL and pictures of damage received from the warehouse.
  • Site Admin for Beermate inbox – activate contacts and assign correct roles/permissions.



Qualifications

  • Understanding of Purchasing Processes, Purchase Orders, and Procurement
  • Strong skills in Purchasing and vendor coordination
  • Excellent Communication skills for working with vendors and internal teams
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks effectively
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent (some college or professional certifications are a plus)
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Previous experience in a purchasing or procurement role is preferred
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work collaboratively across purchasing, AR, warehouse and sales teams
