Position Summary

Launch Point, the full-service marketing agency powered by the Tampa Bay Times, is seeking a Business Development Manager to lead revenue growth across the East Region. This player-coach role combines hands-on sales leadership with strategic market development, requiring a leader who can actively coach sales professionals in the field, build strong client relationships, and drive business growth through data-driven marketing solutions.


The Business Development Manager will spend the majority of their time working alongside sales representatives in the field, providing real-time coaching and support, while also overseeing forecasting, performance management, and regional sales strategy.


Core Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute regional sales strategies that drive market share growth and revenue performance.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor sales representatives through regular field visits, ride-alongs, and client meetings.
  • Manage and maintain pipeline visibility through HubSpot and other sales tools, ensuring consistent activity and opportunity tracking.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with key clients, serving as a trusted advisor and escalation point when needed.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top sales talent while fostering an inclusive and high-performing team culture.
  • Monitor sales performance and accountability through forecasting, reporting, commission review, and goal tracking.
  • Analyze market trends, sales data, and customer insights to identify growth opportunities and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including Marketing, Research, Finance, Production, and Client Services to deliver successful client outcomes.
  • Support the sale of integrated marketing solutions spanning digital advertising, media, data intelligence, and agency services.
  • Represent Launch Point and Times Publishing Company within the local business community to build awareness and generate new opportunities.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in outside advertising, media sales, or a related business development role.
  • Minimum of 3 years of sales leadership or team management experience.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, advertising solutions, and integrated media strategies.
  • Demonstrated success achieving and exceeding sales and revenue targets.
  • Experience managing sales pipelines, forecasting, and performance metrics.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms, preferably HubSpot, and other modern sales technologies.
  • Ability to leverage AI and technology tools to improve productivity and sales effectiveness.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and coaching abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
