Proposal/Applications Engineer

Proposal/ Applications Engineer (PE) is responsible for reviewing each assigned application and each assigned RFP (Request for Proposal) for large equipment/integration projects, proposing the appropriate equipment, and generating quotes that meet the customer's specifications and requirements. Proposal Engineer will work with vendors and request quotes for applicable materials, estimate in house labor and onsite services and compile these into our quote format. Proposal Engineer works closely with other PE's, proposal administrator and the Inside Sales Manager to make sure quotes and proposal packages are completed thoroughly and submitted to customers on time.

Requirements:

  • Engineering or technical background and experience, degree preferred.
  • Experience as applications engineer (or similar), reviewing customer documents for technical specifications and scope.
  • Experience completing complex quotations.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to learn company products, services and culture and incorporate these into work performed and quotes prepared.
  • Excellent organization skills, prioritizing tasks, pro-active.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with subordinates, peers, managers, customers and vendors.
  • Excellent computer literacy and skills including MS Excel, Word and Outlook.
