The Project Assistant in our Intellectual Property department will provide support services to the Intellectual Property attorneys, Paralegal Coordinators, Supervisor and Paralegals in the prosecution of U.S. and foreign patents. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter and analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills, a high level of customer service orientation and working knowledge of Microsoft products. This position requires excellent attention to detail, strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to meet deadlines. The ability to work both independently and in a team environment is a must. Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with all tiers of personnel and clients are essential.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee information disclosure statement processes including reference management and document drafting
  • Assist attorneys and paralegals with prosecution of U.S. and foreign patents
  • Assist with the preparation of routine correspondence to clients and foreign associates
  • Assist with the preparation and filing of legal documents at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
  • Assist with reviewing and reporting documents received from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
  • Provide support to IP team members with special projects and coverageย 
  • Consistently achieve billable hour expectation set by the firm (including approved non-billable time)
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree, Bachelor's Degree and/or Paralegal Certificate preferred.ย  ย 
  • Previous exposure to the Intellectual Property field or an office environment preferred. #LI-Hybridย

The actual offered amount will be between the range minimum and midpoint based on the following factors: education, experience, geographic market, and internal pay equity at Foley.ย  We are accepting ongoing applications.ย - Milwaukee, Salt Lake City: $52,800 - $73,900

- Chicago, Dallas, Denver: $58,100 - $81,300

- Boston, Washington D.C.: $63,400 to $88,700
