As the company continues to expand its portfolio, they are seeking a Property Accountant to join their growing accounting team. They are looking for someone with strong real estate accounting experience who can support a dynamic environment and contribute to continued organizational growth.

Responsibilities of the Property Accountant
  • Prepare monthly journal entries
  • Reconcile bank accounts, escrows, and reserve accounts
  • Maintain supporting workpapers for key balance sheet accounts (prepaids, accruals, mortgage payable, interest payable, real estate tax payable, tenant AR/AP, etc.)
  • Reconcile capital activity for properties
  • Prepare journal entries related to acquisitions, dispositions, and financing activity
  • Analyze tenant allowances, lease commissions, and other capital items for accurate classification
  • Provide consolidated financial and operating reporting support for the multifamily portfolio
  • Process owner distributions and lender draws
  • Assist with tax return preparation and provide supporting documentation
  • Work with external auditors for year‑end audits and tax filings
  • Assist with preparation and review of annual property budgets
  • Participate in special projects and prepare ad hoc reporting
  • Support tenant reconciliations and annual CAM/tax estimates

Experience & Qualifications
  • 1+ years of accounting experience
  • Real estate accounting experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
