Staff Accountant | Real Estate | South Florida

A growing real estate organization is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional with experience in month-end close, financial statement preparation, reconciliations, and cash management who wants to grow within the real estate industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and post monthly journal entries as part of the month-end close
  • Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules for assigned entities
  • Analyze balance sheet and P&L accounts
  • Reconcile interest and loan balances to lender statements
  • Manage cash activity and initiate wire transfers
  • Maintain accurate cash records and supporting schedules
  • Assist with monthly financial reporting and cash management

Requirements:

  • 1โ€“3 years of accounting experience
  • Experience with full financial statement preparation
  • Strong understanding of GAAP
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred:

  • Experience in multifamily real estate
  • Construction accounting experience
