Job description

Senior Project Manager โ€“ Medical Device Engineering

Lead complex projects that bring innovative automation solutions to life. We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to drive high-impact engineering and manufacturing projects from contract award through final customer acceptance. In this customer-facing leadership role, you'll own project execution, build strong stakeholder relationships, and partner with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional results on time and within budget.

What You'll Do
  • Lead complex Design Build (DB) and Build-to-Print (BTP) projects from kickoff through customer acceptance.
  • Own project scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk management, and overall project performance.
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, resource requirements, and milestone schedules.
  • Manage project budgets, monitor costs, and proactively address variances and risks.
  • Serve as the primary customer contact for project execution, timelines, deliverables, and issue resolution.
  • Navigate customer organizations to engage key stakeholders, drive decisions, and maintain project momentum.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams across Engineering, Applications, Supply Chain, Assembly, Quality, and Customer Service.
  • Oversee customer documentation and project deliverables, including design reviews, testing plans, and milestone packages.
  • Facilitate technical discussions, manage scope changes, and ensure alignment between customer expectations and project objectives.
  • Drive successful project execution through effective communication, collaboration, and leadership in a matrix environment.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in a related field.
  • PMP certification required.
  • 5+ years of experience leading complex engineering, manufacturing, automation, or industrial equipment projects.
  • Proven success managing projects from order through final customer acceptance.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, budgeting, scheduling, and contract management.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, customer management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience influencing and driving results across cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Smartsheet, and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing, machining, or industrial automation environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Design Build (DB) and Build-to-Print (BTP) projects.
  • Familiarity with stage-gate project management methodologies such as APS or similar systems.
  • Background in automation, electromechanical systems, industrial equipment, or custom machinery.
  • Experience with Encompix or similar ERP platforms.
  • Customer-facing experience managing scope negotiations, timelines, and project escalations.
