Job description

General Summary:         

Under the direction of and reports to the Sr. Program Manager. The main function of the Program Manager is to participate and lead the Planning for Product Realization process once a product is released to MTI by a customer. This position manages the internal Product Launch activities affecting all new and transferred customer products, as well as engineering changes.  To achieve flawless launch, this position will facilitate and lead Manufacturing Feasibility Reviews, technical reviews, APQP meetings, launch planning meetings, and Team Feasibility Reviews, both internally and externally. As part of these meetings, there will be a review of all quality requirements, engineering specifications and product requirements. The Program Manager will be responsible for creating and monitoring data input for all “Master Product Launch information” in the appropriate document retention system. The Program Manager will provide liaison duties between MTI customers and MTI Manufacturing plants to assure that the manufacture or purchase of products meet all requirements at or better than quoted lead-times.

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Track, coordinate, and manage MTI new product launches, part/tooling transfers, and engineering changes, to ensure compliance with both MTI and customers’ requirements.
  • Monitor and ensure Product Launch compliance to AIAG Core Tools, and IATF-16949 / ISO-9001 procedures.
  • Coordinate and facilitate Team Feasibility Reviews, Manufacturing Feasibility Reviews, APQP meetings (internal and customer), and PPAP/product launch timing.
  • Apply internal systems that document and control a variety of customer information including prints, purchase orders, quality requirements, specifications, product requirements, and commercial terms.
  • Provide general analysis of new programs and opportunities.
  • Maintain launch tracking programs.
  • Monitor and maintain the QMS Dashboard.
  • Create and provide project timelines in Microsoft Project as requested.

 

Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements:

  • Exceptional written, verbal and computer skills (including working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project).
  • Strong understanding of automotive industry’s quality requirements including IATF-16949 and ISO-9001, PPAP, and AIAG Core Tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.
  • Demonstrates skills and knowledge in the following areas: project management, program management, and commercial terms.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a wide range of employees, customers, and suppliers.
  • Ability to effectively manage change/s.

 

 Working Conditions

  • The Program Manager will reside primarily in the office, however, will be in the plant and traveling to customers and suppliers occasionally.  Must be able to adhere to conditions of the plant

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum B.S. in Business or Engineering or extensive industry experience
  • Minimum three years of experience in program management, sales, engineering or quality with Tier 1 or 2 automotive parts supplier.
  • Training in IATF-16949 / ISO-9001, AIAG Core Tools and project management is preferred.
  • Experience in foundry, machining, or metals industries preferred.
