Job description

A Day in the Life:

A Contract Manager at Hertz is responsible for drafting, analyzing, negotiating, and managing various types of commercial contracts to ensure compliance with business goals, legal requirements, and company policies.  The ideal candidate is a business-minded negotiator who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and has excellent communication skills.  The Contract Manager is an integral part of the lifecycle of contracts for the organization and collaborates with multiple cross functional departments.

The starting salary for this role is $90K; commensurate with experience. 

Essential Functions:

  • Structure, draft, redline, and negotiate a broad range of agreements including master services agreements, software licensing agreements, SaaS agreements, and statements of work 
  • Utilize excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with colleagues, business units, and stakeholders
  • Work autonomously and exercise sound judgment in a fast-paced environment
  • Partner with business units to ensure negotiated agreements meet business intent
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholder teams to ensure negotiated agreements are consistent with internal policies
  • Ensure all contracts align with legal and regulatory requirements, mitigating risks to the organization
  • Maintain organized records of contracts and related documentation 
  • Participate in training team members on contract management best practices
  • Develop and implement processes to streamline contract administration and improve efficiency

What We Are Looking For:

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree or Military Experience 
  • A JD or paralegal certification is preferred
  • Bring a minimum of 5 years of experience in contract management, legal, procurement, negotiation or paralegal roles
  • Proficient knowledge and understanding of contract types and structure
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally 
  • Possession of advanced negotiation skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of legal principles behind high-risk terms and a high degree of knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to contracts
  •  Ability to develop and maintain strong working partnerships with business units and internal stakeholders
