Position OverviewThe Program Director leads the day-to-day operations of the COMPASS Elementary Afterschool Program, ensuring children receive a safe, engaging, and high-quality afterschool experience. This role oversees program operations, staff supervision, compliance, reporting, and partnerships while ensuring all contractual and program requirements are met. The Program Director serves as the primary liaison between the organization, families, schools, community partners, and funding agencies to support positive youth outcomes and program success.
This position is located in Staten Island, NY.Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operations of the COMPASS Afterschool Program.
- Develop and monitor enrichment programming aligned with DYCD, SACC, and agency standards.
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate program staff.
- Conduct staff meetings, provide coaching, and ensure appropriate staffing coverage.
- Ensure compliance with DYCD, SACC, OCFS, DOE, and agency policies and requirements.
- Maintain accurate program documentation and submit required reports on time.
- Build relationships with families, schools, community partners, and DYCD representatives.
- Coordinate family engagement activities, workshops, field trips, and special events.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, Human Services, Youth Development, Public Administration, or a related field required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in youth development, afterschool, education, or community-based programs required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience required.
- Experience working with school-age children and families required.
- Strong knowledge of DYCD, SACC, OCFS, or other youth program compliance requirements required.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data management systems required.
- Familiarity with DYCD-funded programs, experience with program reporting and contract compliance, and bilingual ability (Spanish, French Creole, or other commonly spoken languages) preferred.
Pay RangeUSD $38.46 - USD $41.20 /Hr.Employment Type: FULL_TIME
