To excel as a program director, you need extensive business and management experience in, and comprehensive technical knowledge of your chosen industry, including an understanding of each department within your organization and the challenges they face. Because you are in charge of overseeing the entire operation, you must have the ability to conceptualize organizational strategy and be able to accurately measure success. Good program directors must have excellent communication, organization, financial management, and leadership skills.
