3rd Shift
Summary:
The Shift Supervisor is responsible for the planning and execution of resources to achieve production objectives associated with the operating plan. Shift supervisors report to the Production Supervisor. A great shift supervisor ensures that all tasks are running smoothly and on time, and that end products are of acceptable quality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe working environment
  • Responsible for hiring/firing and discipline of personnel on shift
  • Responsible for maintenance of timecards
  • Responsible for properly utilizing labor to achieve production plans
  • Responsible for accurate labor/production/scrap recording in IQMS
  • Responsible for scanning and inventory accuracy at work centers
  • Responsible for line clearance activities that occur on shift
  • Responsible for training to established procedures and verifying competence of operators
  • Responsible for staff performance evaluations
  • Responsible for 5S of the work areas
  • Responsible for communicating and achieving shift goals and objectives and maintain performance metrics as required to monitor results
  • Participate in continuous improvement programs and manufacturing process improvements
  • Help develop, update and maintain work instructions, procedures, and documentation for the Quality Management System
  • Generate shop orders for mold repairs or maintenance in absence of planning
  • Other responsibilities as required by Supervisor
  • When quality issues arise, this position has the authority to stop the press if needed to conduct root cause analysis

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for training plans and programs for personnel

Qualifications:
  • Manufacturing supervising experience
  • Clean background that meets FFL requirements
  • Able to utilize Outlook, Word and Excel effectively

Education and/or Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Injection molding/plastics industry preferred

Mathematical Skills:
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide

Reasoning Ability:
  • Ability to deal with ambiguous situations, make decisions and take charge of production situations with clear and calm demeanor

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
  • None required

Physical Demands:
  • Extended hours sitting and viewing a computer screen, repetitive hand and wrist movements.
  • Standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, lifting up to 50 pounds regularly

Work Environment:
  • Manufacturing environment with associated noises, smells and temperatures
