We are seeking a Production Manager to support the manufacturing of our EcoSorb products by leading a safe, efficient, and high-quality operation while developing and coaching team members.

Key Responsibilities

Safety & Compliance

  • Promote and lead a strong safety culture with a goal of zero OSHA recordable injuries.
  • Understand, enforce, and ensure compliance with all OSHA regulations, internal safety procedures, and company policies.
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and safety equipment at all times.
  • Conduct safety audits, observations, and near-miss monitoring; implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Investigate incidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective/preventive actions.
  • Partner with Safety Coordinator and participate in Safety Committee activities.
  • Respond to building-related safety and security issues.

6S & Housekeeping

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Enforce and sustain 6S standards across all areas.
  • Conduct regular 6S audits and ensure timely resolution of identified issues.

Quality & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead with a strong quality mindset aligned with ISO 9001:2015 standards.
  • Ensure adherence to manufacturing work instructions and document control requirements.
  • Partner with Quality to monitor processes and resolve issues.
  • Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions (CAPA/CAF).
  • Track scrap, identify trends, and implement improvements.
  • Promote and implement Continuous Improvement Program (CIP) initiatives.
  • Support development and refinement of manufacturing processes and standards.

Production & Productivity

  • Develop and manage production schedules to meet customer demand and ship dates.
  • Monitor daily output and key performance indicators; take action to meet or exceed goals.
  • Optimize labor utilization and adjust staffing assignments as needed.
  • Coordinate shift handoffs to ensure seamless production continuity.
  • Drive efficiency improvements through lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Manage batch tickets and production transactions in ERP system (Epicor).
  • Control departmental expenses within budget.

Leadership & Supervision

  • Lead, coach, and develop employees to ensure high performance and engagement.
  • Train new hires and cross-train team members on processes and equipment.
  • Enforce company policies consistently, including progressive discipline when necessary.
  • Resolve employee issues and escalate to Human Resources when appropriate.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback.
  • Ensure accurate timekeeping and support payroll processes.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels, including overtime planning when necessary.
  • Provide daily communication and participate in production meetings and walk-throughs.
  • Support hiring and overall workforce planning.

Inventory & Equipment Management

  • Maintain accurate inventory records within ERP systems.
  • Participate in cycle counts and physical inventories; resolve discrepancies.
  • Ensure equipment, tooling, and machinery are properly maintained and in good working condition.
  • Coordinate supply needs with Purchasing.

Additional Expectations

  • Provide on-call support as needed, including off-hours response.
  • Support overall operational excellence initiatives.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in production planning in job shop environment strongly preferred.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety best practices.
  • Experience working within ISO 9001 standards.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (Epicor).
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and basic computer systems.
  • Ability to use measuring instruments and perform basic math functions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
