We are looking for a Manufacturing Manager to join our team in one of today's most exciting technologies. This role will report to the Sr. Manager, Manufacturing and based in Newark, DE. This is a fully on-site, in office role. The position may change shifts as needed.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Manage a diverse team of indirect and direct reports inclusive of supervisors, team leads, team members and other resources in achieving the production schedule while improving safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Hire, develop, and train manufacturing staff to support plant ramp ups and continued operations.
  • Develop and implement production scalability, process workflow and employee development plans.
  • Initiate and facilitate problem solving groups to resolve issues to meet the current and future needs of the company.
  • Lead training in Lean Manufacturing concepts, tools, and principles in our production areas.
  • Support development of policies, procedures and standardized work for manufacturing and production.
  • Drive continuous improvement activities through hands-on approach using tools and concepts related to Pull System, Kanban, Standardized Work, 5S, Visual Management, Problem Solving and kitting.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining training and safety programs, workgroup boards, continuous improvement projects.
  • Lead and utilize problem solving methods (A3's, 8-Step etc.) along with project tracking mechanisms (i.e., Rolling Action Item List (R.A.I.L)
  • Develop and implement change management process to ensure smooth changes in all aspects of production.
  • Coordinate with other groups like warehouse, quality, and final integration testing (FIT) to ensure production needs are met.
  • Responsible for the optimization of the entire value-stream from the supply chain through the delivery of Bloom Energy servers to customers.
  • Support the launch of new products and processes
  • Ability to manage multiple shifts and flexibility to work on any of the shifts, or in any area of the plant, based on company needs.
  • Develop dashboards for information visualization and decision-making improvements
  • Analyze data to pin-point root cause of defects and production challenges

Skills and Experience:

  • BS Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent related experience
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in high volume complex assembly or advanced manufacturing environment as a leader
  • Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing tools and principles with proven results
  • Experience managing manufacturing teams, automation equipment and MES Systems
  • Knowledge of Warehouse and Inventory Management
  • Hands on experience with ERP implementation
  • Experience with Oracle: Warehouse Management System (WMS)
  • Promote strong employee relations through strong motivation and mentoring skills
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Highly advanced analytical and cognitive skills.
  • Must be a creative thinker and have a vision of how to raise process maturity to the next level.
  • Must demonstrate a bias for action and implementation
  • Experience and acumen with electrical components preferred
  • Business experience in hi tech or low volume / high mix industries preferred
  • Computer systems knowledge including strong proficiency with Excell and MS Office programs
  • Strong data analysis and data driven decision making skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours per shift
  • Occasionally lift/carry up to 25-50 lbs
  • Use hands and fingers to operate machinery controls and computers throughout the shift
  • Visual acuity sufficient for product inspection and reading digital/printed materials
  • Hearing ability to detect alarms and communicate effectively with staff
  • Ability to perform essential tasks with or without reasonable accommodation
