As the Production Manager - Kitting Operations, you will lead the warehouse kitting production
function, ensuring kitting projects are executed safely, accurately, efficiently, and on schedule. This
role is responsible for production planning, labor and resource allocation, quality assurance,
inventory coordination, process improvement, and team leadership across day-to-day kitting
operations.
Responsibilities:
Production Leadership:
  • Lead, train, mentor, and manage production supervisors, project coordinators, and

warehouse kitting team members to optimize performance, productivity, and
accountability.
  • Set clear expectations, monitor performance, support employee development, and partner

with leadership on staffing, scheduling, and performance management needs.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and customer-focused work environment within the

production operation.
Production Planning and Execution:
  • Oversee daily kitting operations to ensure production targets, customer requirements, and

project deadlines are met.
  • Collaborate with planning, scheduling, procurement, transportation, and warehouse teams

to align labor, materials, equipment, and operational priorities.
  • Monitor production progress, resolve bottlenecks, and adjust resources as needed to

maintain service levels and operational efficiency.
Kitting Project Coordination:
  • Coordinate kitting project timelines, requirements, and status updates with internal

departments and external clients as needed.
  • Ensure work orders, packing lists, labeling requirements, shipping schedules, and project

documentation are accurate and maintained.
  • Communicate operational changes, project risks, and priority shifts clearly to production

teams and cross-functional partners.
Inventory and System Management:
  • Partner with inventory and warehouse teams to ensure components are available,

accurate, and properly staged for kitting production.
  • Utilize warehouse management systems, ERP tools, RF scanners, and production reporting

tools to track performance, inventory movement, and project status.
  • Identify inventory, system, or documentation issues and drive timely resolution with the

appropriate teams.
Process Optimization and Reporting:
  • Continuously evaluate kitting workflows and implement best practices to improve

productivity, accuracy, safety, and overall efficiency.
  • Generate, review, and analyze production metrics, including throughput, accuracy, labor

utilization, on-time completion, and quality performance.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives and support process changes that reduce errors,

eliminate waste, and improve operational execution.
Quality Assurance:
  • Enforce quality control standards to ensure kitted products are complete, accurate,

properly labeled, packaged, and prepared for shipment.
  • Conduct regular audits, review quality trends, and implement corrective actions to address

errors, rework, or customer-impacting issues.
  • Ensure production teams understand and follow standard operating procedures, customer

specifications, and quality requirements.
Safety and Compliance:
  • Maintain a safe warehouse and production environment by enforcing safety guidelines, PPE requirements, equipment procedures, and compliance standards.
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability across the production team.
  • Investigate and report incidents, identify root causes, and implement preventive measures

in partnership with leadership and safety teams.
Communication:
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on production performance, staffing needs, project

status, operational challenges, and improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain open communication between production, warehouse, procurement,

transportation, customer service, and leadership teams.
  • Support training and change management efforts for new procedures, systems, customer

requirements, or project workflows.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management,

Business, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in warehouse, production, fulfillment, kitting, assembly, logistics, or

3PL operations.
  • 2+ years of leadership or management experience in a warehouse or production

environment.
  • Strong knowledge of kitting processes, inventory management, warehouse operations,

project coordination, and order fulfillment workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage production schedules, labor planning, operational

priorities, and cross-functional deadlines.
  • Ability to analyze production data, identify trends, and implement process improvements.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organization, problem-solving, and interpersonal

skills.
  • Familiarity with health, safety, and compliance requirements in a warehouse or production

environment.
  • Proficient with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, D365, RF scanners,

and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of material handling equipment operations, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and

related warehouse equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in food-grade logistics, 3PL, kitting, assembly, or high-volume order fulfillment

operations.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement certification is a plus.
  • Forklift certification or prior material handling equipment experience is a plus.
  • Experience developing standard operating procedures, training materials, production

dashboards, or KPI reports.
