Job description

Production Analyst

The Production Analyst is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing oil and gas production performance across multiple asset types and technologies. This role supports production engineering, and field operations, and reservoir teams by providing data-driven insights to maximize asset value, improve operational efficiency, and ensure production targets are achieved safely and economically. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, experience with production systems and surveillance tools, and the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Production Monitoring & Reporting
  • Monitor daily oil, gas, and water production across operated assets.
  • Analyze well performance, decline trends, and production anomalies.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, or monthly production variance reports.
  • Reconcile volumes between field measurements and accounting systems.
  • Performance Analysis & Optimization
  • Conduct well performance diagnostics and identify underperforming wells.
  • Analyze downtime events and recommend corrective actions.
  • Evaluate production enhancement opportunities.
  • Data Management & Systems
  • Maintain and validate production databases (e.g., Quorum Products, PHDWin, Petra, SCADA systems).
  • Provide support in maintaining surveillance tools across various platforms (e.g, Spotfire, Power BI, etc.)
  • Perform data cleansing and quality control checks within production allocation systems.
  • Configure or adjust production allocations as needed.
  • Develop dashboards and automated reporting tools.
  • Integrate production data from multiple technologies and sources.
  • Onboard and transition disparate field capture and reporting systems into High River systems when assets are acquired.
  • Forecasting & Planning
  • Support data integration and quality control checks during reserves cycle.
  • Support annual budgeting and business planning initiatives.
  • Evaluate the impact of new wells and workovers, and their impact on production allocation systems.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with production engineers and field operations teams.
  • Support HSE compliance through data-driven risk identification.
  • Coordinate with finance for production allocation and revenue tracking.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • 5+ years of experience in oil & gas production analysis
  • Proficiency in Advanced Excel, SQL and/or Python (preferred)
  • Production surveillance software
  • Data visualization tools
  • Quorum, Clear Scada & Cygnet
