What is the opportunity?
Join our US Technology Strategy and Architecture team as Director, Technology Product Strategy, where you'll drive transformational changes across RBC's technology landscape. In this strategic role, you'll shape and execute IT Development and Delivery processes that establish best-in-class practices across our US entities. You'll lead initiatives in SDLC, DevOps, and Test Automation, embedding RBC's proven methodologies into our operations while building sustainable competitive advantage. This is a high-impact position where you'll own the instrumentation and measurement of success-defining and monitoring KPIs and KRIs that demonstrate tangible value for adopting entities. You'll influence senior leadership, collaborate across business units, and drive measurable outcomes that accelerate our digital capabilities. If you're a strategic thinker passionate about operational excellence and technology transformation, this opportunity offers the scope to make a lasting difference at an enterprise scale.
What will you do?
  • Shape and drive IT Development and Delivery strategies across US entities by establishing standardized processes, frameworks, and governance structures that elevate organizational capability and consistency.
  • Define and implement SDLC, DevOps, and Test Automation best practices that align with RBC enterprise standards, ensuring US entities adopt and scale these methodologies effectively.
  • Design and deploy comprehensive instrumentation and measurement frameworks to track KPIs and KRIs, enabling data-driven assessment of process adoption, maturity, and business impact across entities.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with business units, technology teams, and senior leadership to align technology product strategy with organizational objectives and drive adoption of standardized practices.
  • Establish strategic roadmaps and governance models that guide the evolution of IT Development and Delivery capabilities, balancing innovation, risk management, and operational efficiency.
  • Identify and mitigate risks and bottlenecks in current processes through continuous analysis and optimization, recommending and implementing improvements that enhance delivery velocity and quality.
  • Build and mentor high-performing teams while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, technical excellence, and accountability across US technology operations.
  • Communicate strategy, progress, and outcomes to executive stakeholders through compelling reporting, presentations, and business cases that demonstrate ROI and strategic value.
  • Partner with enterprise architecture and technology leadership to ensure alignment between product strategy and broader organizational technology initiatives and investments.

What do you need to succeed?
Must have:
  • Undergraduate degree coupled with change management experience in complex programs with high frequency of requests and multiple priorities.
  • 10+ years in technology strategic leadership (or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated ability in written and oral communication skills along with strong presentation skills. Ability to determine the information and communication needs of the stakeholders and project.
  • Strong organizational, project management and time management capabilities.
  • A strong understanding of technology and/or financial services industry.
  • Deadline-driven and results-oriented; able to meet consistently high-quality standards while handling a variety of tasks and deadlines simultaneously.

Nice to have:
  • Experience in a matrix environment, such as a large, publicly traded corporation.
  • Ability to facilitate between and influence key decision makers.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent interpersonal skills to work across functions and businesses.

The expected salary range for this particular position is $160,000-$260,000, depending on your experience, skills, and registration status, market conditions and business needs.
