Job Title: Business Process Specialist/ Strategic Planning & Process Modernization Support

Overview
CompTech is seeking a highly analytical and mission-focused Business Process Specialist to support the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) in strategic logistics planning, Global Posture Planning (GPP), operational posture planning, and business process modernization initiatives supporting Geographic Combatant Commands (COCOMs) and enterprise-level logistics operations.
This role supports joint planning activities, logistics coordination, operational readiness efforts, and process improvement initiatives within complex DoD environments. The ideal candidate will possess strong military logistics experience - preferably supporting DLA operations - along with expertise in process reengineering, strategic planning, operational analysis, and global posture support activities.
The Business Process Specialist will provide facilitation, training, methodology development and evaluation, and process reengineering support across all phases of modernization initiatives. This position requires the ability to engage senior stakeholders, support strategic decision-making, and drive operational efficiencies aligned with DLA mission objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
  • Apply business process improvement and reengineering methodologies and principles to support process modernization and operational planning initiatives
  • Support strategic logistics planning, Global Posture Planning (GPP), and operational posture planning activities aligned with Geographic Combatant Commands (COCOMs)
  • Support Global Posture Planning efforts aligned with contingency operations, force posture initiatives, enterprise logistics readiness, and operational sustainment activities
  • Provide facilitation, training, methodology development, and evaluation support across strategic planning and modernization efforts
  • Analyze existing workflows, operational procedures, and organizational processes to identify efficiencies, modernization opportunities, and operational improvements
  • Conduct activity and data modeling, organizational development activities, and business systems process analysis
  • Develop modern business methods, identify best practices, and create and assess operational performance measurements and process effectiveness metrics
  • Integrate new operational processes with existing business systems and coordinate process changes with impacted business systems teams
  • Recommend and facilitate continuous quality improvement efforts across supported operational environments
  • Support strategic projects involving evaluation, analysis, program management, assessments, implications analysis, options management, issues management, and related operational studies
  • Provide expertise on Joint Planning Processes and associated planning products
  • Provide expert advice, recommendations, and leadership support to internal and external stakeholders
  • Shape strategies, develop plans, analyze logistics and operational data, and align initiatives to agency mission objectives
  • Host meetings, working groups, planning sessions, and coordination efforts supporting internal and external requirements
  • Draft planning orders, operational taskings, execution plans, schedules, milestone trackers, and DLA issuances
  • Develop "plans to plan," execution timelines, event coordination activities, and milestone tracking mechanisms supporting strategic initiatives
  • Prepare executive-level logistics reports, operational briefings, assessments, and business presentations for senior DoD leadership
  • Coordinate cross-functional requirements between logistics, operational, technical, and planning stakeholders
  • Support organizational change management efforts associated with operational and process modernization initiatives
  • May oversee or coordinate activities of business process reengineering personnel and working groups

Required Qualifications:
  • Active Top-Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Logistics, Management, Organizational Development, Public Administration, or related discipline
  • Additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirements
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in business process reengineering, military logistics, operational planning, strategic planning, or business analysis within a DoD or federal environment
  • Experience supporting joint and/or Service-level planning activities and logistical support operations
  • Experience supporting strategic and operational decision-making environments
  • Commercially astute with sound decision-making, strategic acumen, process improvement expertise, and analytical problem-solving capabilities
  • Strong understanding of process improvement methodologies, organizational analysis, and operational coordination
  • Experience supporting strategic initiatives involving assessments, planning analysis, and operational execution
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to create and deliver executive-level presentations and briefings
  • Strong interpersonal and persuasion skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive collaboration
  • Ability to communicate effectively with business, operational, and technical personnel at all organizational levels

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience supporting Defense Logistics Agency
  • Experience supporting Geographic Combatant Commands (COCOMs), Joint Staff, or enterprise logistics operations
  • Experience supporting Global Posture Planning (GPP), force posture initiatives, contingency planning, global force management, or operational sustainment activities
  • 8+ years of relevant DoD logistics, strategic planning, or operational support experience preferred
  • Graduate degree in a related discipline preferred
  • Familiarity with DoD strategic planning documentation, logistics synchronization efforts, and operational readiness reporting
  • Project management, Lean Six Sigma, or process improvement certifications are a plus
