Job Overview:

As a Manufacturing CI Intern, you will play a key role in analyzing, optimizing, and documenting our manufacturing workflows and processes. You will collaborate closely with our Operations team to reduce variability, enhance efficiency, and maintain consistent product quality. This role offers a hands-on learning experience and the opportunity to contribute to impactful process improvements within a dynamic production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze current workflows and processes to identify areas for improvement.
  • Gather and interpret data related to operational efficiency and performance.
  • Collaborate with Operations teams regarding production processes, reducing variability and ensuring consistent product quality.
  • Assist CI Leads in process improvement.
  • Document processes by using different tools like excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Create and implement changeover matrices and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as required.
  • Work with the Operations team to address challenges and propose solutions for process enhancements.
  • Communicate recommendations and project progress effectively to stakeholders.
  • Follow the company’s health and safety programs, rules, and procedures, ensuring compliance with related legislation and codes.
  • Report incidents, injuries, illnesses, and near misses to the supervisor.
  • Use and wear safety equipment and personal protective equipment as required.
  • Report any hazardous or unsafe conditions, equipment issues, or non-compliance to the supervisor.
  • Adhere to all established food safety and quality standards based on Safe Quality Food (SQF) requirements.

Recipe for Success:

  • Currently pursuing a degree or diploma in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field. (preferrable in 3rd year)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing environments and continuous improvement methodologies is an asset.
