Job description

Overview:
We are seeking an analytical and hands-on Process Engineer to help us elevate the performance, efficiency, and quality of our high-volume manufacturing operations. In this fast-paced environment, you must be confident working across process optimization and continuous improvement, with strong technical instincts and the ability to work problems from symptoms to root cause.
Because our production floor relies on precision and high output, this role requires a strong emphasis on statistical analysis, machine optimization, and cross-functional collaboration. In addition to analyzing production data and equipment efficiency, you will be responsible for leading continuous improvement initiatives, commissioning new process equipment, and developing best practices. As you grow, you will take on increasing ownership of quality metrics and process innovation, ensuring we deliver world-class products at scale.
If you're a skilled process engineer looking for a great long-term home with exceptional day-one benefits, comprehensive training, and a collaborative culture, this is the company for you!
Compensation
  • Base Pay: $90,000 - $105,000 / yr
  • Bonus: Short-term incentive plan
  • Relocation: $10,000 - $25,000 available (on a case-by-case basis)

Responsibilities:
  • Process Optimization - Analyze production processes, plan, and implement activities to increase efficiency, optimize machine performance, and improve product quality without sacrificing standards.
  • Quality & Efficiency Control - Analyze the efficiency of existing product quality control methods, develop best practices, and utilize data from various stages of production to drive actionable improvements.
  • Equipment Commissioning - Participate in the launch and commissioning of new process equipment; form recipes and dial in process parameters to maximize output and reliability.
  • Continuous Improvement - Lead and implement process improvement activities utilizing Lean methodologies; apply statistical analysis methods to prepare rationalization proposals and upgrade production technology.
  • Root Cause Analysis - Support the quality team to resolve complex issues; apply statistics and established problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8-D, 5-Why, Ishikawa) to prevent repeat failures.
  • Documentation & Training - Develop work instructions, update technical process documentation, and create/conduct training programs for production employees to ensure standardized work.
  • Performance Tracking - Maintain responsibility for all process-related reports (such as OEE, downtime, cycle time) within your area, keeping accurate records in computer-aided production control systems.
  • Global Collaboration - Cooperate with international engineering colleagues regarding process, quality, and technical issues to align on best practices and global standards.
  • Safety & Compliance - Ensure the Quality Management System functions effectively in accordance with ISO standards; follow OSHA and company safety rules (including LOTO) to proactively support site safety.

Requirements
Qualifications:
Required
  • Experience - 5+ years of tire engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Education - Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or physical sciences (or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training).
  • Analytical Aptitude - Strong ability to analyze data into meaningful areas of improvement; understands and applies SPC (Statistical Process Control) analysis to problem-solving.
  • Problem-Solving Mindset - Proven skills using established root-cause methodologies (8-D, 5-Why, Ishikawa) to isolate issues and execute effective, lasting solutions.
  • Technical Proficiency - Strong computer skills, including basic knowledge of computer-based manufacturing applications and proficiency with the MS Office suite (Word & Excel).
  • Communication & Teamwork - Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to collaborate cross-functionally, effectively receive and relay technical instructions, and work independently under pressure.
  • Work Authorization - Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship. Available to work overtime and weekends when needed.

Preferred
  • Certifications - Lean / Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is highly preferred.

Environmental & Physical:
  • Physical Requirements - Ability to move throughout office and manufacturing environments (walking, standing, ascending/descending stairs and grated platforms), sit for extended periods, and lift/move items up to 20 pounds.
  • PPE & Safety - Comfortable working in designated production areas requiring appropriate personal protective equipment (safety-toe shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection).
  • Work Environment - Primary office-based role but requires routine presence on the production floor with exposure to typical manufacturing hazards, noise, moving machinery, industrial vehicles, varied temperatures (65-100ยฐF), and industrial materials/odors.

Benefits
Time Off & Benefits
  • PTO + Paid parental leave
  • Health: Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Retirement: 401(k) eligible after one month, with a 100% match on the first 6%
