Pay Range

$115,300.00-$158,500.00 Annual

This is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire. Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus.

The Senior Process Engineer role within the Engineered Products Innovation and Commercialization team is responsible for delivering key innovation projects and driving improved process productivity through technical advancements. A successful candidate in this role will become a subject matter expert in our Glass Nonwovens processes and will serve as a key resource for the cross-functional teams that support this process. The candidate will be an expert at using process data to identify areas for improvement, troubleshoot, and optimize that process. In this role, the candidate will also be expected to utilize artificial intelligence tools where appropriate to improve the manufacturing process based on process data. The candidate should also have a demonstrated track record of problem solving. The Senior Process Engineer will collaborate with the specialists at JMTC or outside institutes to drive development of core technologies beyond existing levels. The candidate may lead small capital projects, so a solid Project Management skillset is also a benefit in this position.

Your Day to Day:

  • Perform continuous analysis identifying areas for improvement and corrective actions.
  • Create and maintain knowledge of latest technologies and evaluate for use in current process and future processes
  • Work closely with internal and external resources to develop new opportunities
  • Provide leadership for process redesign efforts e.g. during rebuilds or major investment projects across the divisions
  • Coaches and develops the process engineers in the division
  • Shares learnings and findings in a proactive way in the broader technical community
  • Work with multiple locations / operations / functions to identify process improvement opportunities
  • Provide leadership for process redesign efforts e.g. during rebuilds or major investment projects across the divisions.
  • Lead multiple projects and process optimizations in a manufacturing operation, potentially across several plants
  • Provide technical guidance during development, construction, and startup on new technology implementations for the manufacturing process
  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related science with a minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial continuous process manufacturing either as a process or design engineer and 2 years troubleshooting on manufacturing processes
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills including complex data analysis
  • Successful history of innovation and adaptability
  • Proven results orientation including the ability to lead key projects to successful completion
  • Advanced knowledge of machine learning techniques for predictive modeling, anomaly detection, and process optimization
  • Experience in developing and deploying data models to support manufacturing process improvements
  • Proficiency in statistical modeling and multivariate analysis for complex process data interpretation
  • Hands-on experience with AI/ML frameworks and libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch)
  • Ability to design and implement data pipelines for real-time and batch processing of manufacturing data
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Demonstrated collaboration skills including the ability to interact with a broad range of employees and disciplines such as finance, procurement, project engineering
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, PowerBI
  • Experience with data analysis tools such as Python, R, and SQL and capability to gather and clean data collected from raw and varied data sets
  • Travel required (25% / 60+ days per year)
  • Work environment is typical of a manufacturing facility: May be exposed to environmental conditions of cold, heat, high noise levels, moving mechanical parts, heights, dust/mist/gas/fumes, extensive walking or climbing, etc.
