Job description

A full-time position for a Process Automation System (PAS) Engineer is available based within the Kingsport, Knoxville or Chattanooga, TN area. Using your expertise, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of automation projects.
You will serve as the Lead Technical point of contact between the Project Manager and the technical disciplines involved in the project execution.
As a PAS Engineer, you will support the sales and proposals teams in the pursuit of new business opportunities by utilizing your skills and experience. In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Ensure delivery of projects
  • Project execution - take ownership of engineering activities (DCS Design, configuration, testing, commissioning and start-up on all allocated deliverables and proactively utilize methodologies, resources and techniques for minimizing cost while maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Interpret technical documents, requirements and design specifications used in executing the project.
  • Work with Resource Manager to forecast resource needs for current and upcoming projects. Ensure resources are assigned to projects to optimize customer satisfaction and profitability.
Qualification:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science plus 5-10 years of experience with process control.
  • Advanced knowledge of DeltaV DCS System, preferably in a senior or lead capacity.
  • Experience working with both software and hardware.
  • Experience in an industrial automation project delivery environment including field support.
  • Proficient in creating and maintaining detailed documentation, including control system designs, technical specification, and project reports
  • Strong understanding of process controls and experience implementing and optimizing control strategies.
  • Excellent communications skills - both written and verbal
  • Able to relate well to others, including team members, peers, senior leaders and customers.
  • Working knowledge with word and spreadsheet programs.
  • Working knowledge of database programs.
