Job description

The Duckhorn Portfolio is North America’s premier luxury wine company. We were established in 1976 by Dan and Margaret Duckhorn. Today, our portfolio features some of North America’s most revered wineries, including Duckhorn Vineyards, Decoy, Goldeneye, Kosta Browne, Calera, Greenwing, Paraduxx, Migration, Canvasback, and Postmark.


The Harvest Enologist will provide daily support to winemaking operations through accurate data entry, preparation of fermentation additions, fermentation management, as well as conducting daily administrative tasks. This role will be located full-time at our Geyserville Winery, in Geyserville. The position requires an understanding of winemaking to ensure the highest quality standards are always upheld. Additionally, the position requires a focused attention to detail, a passion for organization, and a proactive desire to help wherever needed.


What we will ask you to do:

  • Manage fermentations, daily data entry and tank top checks
  • Taste and evaluate wines with the winemaking team
  • Tank planning to optimize headspace and fermentation capacities
  • Work order writing may include: juice racking or centrifuge, inoculations, additions, cap management, pressing, etc.
  • Support winemakers with logistics and special projects, as needed
  • Effectively convey data and timelines to winemaking team
  • Assist with other work in the cellar and the laboratory, as needed
  • Maintain a safe and compliant work environment
  • Ability to work long hours, including extended shifts and 6 days a week
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt as needed

What you will need:
