Job Responsibilities
- Provides technical and professional services for policy development.
- Coordinates policy implementation as well as utilizing policy software to update policy websites, implementation and operation.
- Assists in the drafting and developing of new policies and policy modifications.
- Conducts research on policy related issues and provides results to agency managers.
- Provides policies to outside counsel, other state agencies D the public policies requested through subpoena, FOIA, etc.
- Ensures policies and forms are in compliance with SCDC policy GA-01.01, "policies, publications, and forms".
- Ensures that policies falling under the mental health lawsuit are reviewed by the implementation panel before being processed.
- Implements a policy monitoring system and manages policies sent out each month for annual review to ensure policies are reviewed and updated in a timely manner.
- Responsible for responding to request to staff member forms and the automated request to staff member system.
- Position requires daily contact with inmates.

Minimum and Additional Requirements
State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and relevant program experience.
SCDC Minimum Requirements:
- A high school diploma and 3 years of supervisory experience.
OR
- An associate's degree and 1 year of supervisory experience.
OR
- A bachelor's degree may substitute for the required experience.
