Job description

Sentinel is seeking a Territory Sales Representative to drive business development, client management, and revenue growth within an assigned territory. This role will focus on identifying new opportunities, building long-term customer relationships, and supporting PFAS treatment projects involving granular activated carbon (GAC), ion exchange (IX), pilot testing, pressure vessels, media services, and related water treatment equipment.
The Territory Sales Representative will work closely with utilities, consulting engineers, contractors, industrial customers, internal technical teams, and Sentinel leadership to develop project opportunities from early engagement through proposal, award, and ongoing account management. This is a high-impact commercial role requiring strong initiative, relationship-building skills, technical curiosity, and the ability to travel frequently throughout the assigned territory.
Location Requirement
To effectively support customers throughout the assigned territory, candidates must reside within the Northeast or Mid-Atlantic region of the United States at the time of hire or be willing to relocate prior to their start date. Regular travel throughout the territory is required to meet with customers, conduct site visits, and support business development activities.
Business Development & Prospecting
  • Identify, develop, and pursue new sales opportunities within the assigned territory.
  • Prospect municipal utilities, industrial clients, consulting engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders involved in PFAS treatment and advanced water treatment projects.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities.
  • Track market activity, upcoming projects, regulatory drivers, bid opportunities, and competitive dynamics.
Client & Territory Management
  • Manage and grow relationships with existing customers, prospects, engineers, utilities, contractors, and channel partners.
  • Serve as a primary commercial point of contact for customers within the assigned territory.
  • Conduct regular customer visits, site meetings, presentations, and follow-up discussions.
  • Develop account plans and territory strategies to support revenue growth and long-term customer retention.
PFAS Treatment Sales Support
  • Promote Sentinel's PFAS treatment solutions, including GAC services, IX services, pilot testing systems, vessels, treatment skids, and related water treatment equipment.
  • Coordinate with internal technical, engineering, operations, product, and business development teams to support customer needs.
  • Assist customers in understanding treatment options, service models, equipment configurations, and project execution considerations.
  • Support proposal development by providing customer intelligence, project background, commercial inputs, and territory-specific market insight.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Build strong working relationships with consulting engineers, utilities, contractors, and other project influencers.
  • Represent Sentinel at customer meetings, industry events, conferences, trade shows, and technical presentations.
  • Support early-stage project development by engaging with engineers and customers before formal bid or procurement stages.
  • Maintain awareness of PFAS regulations, treatment trends, and customer needs within the territory.
Sales Execution & Reporting
  • Meet or exceed assigned sales goals, pipeline targets, and strategic account objectives.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, opportunity updates, contact information, and sales activity reports.
  • Provide regular updates on territory performance, major opportunities, competitive activity, and customer feedback.
  • Collaborate with leadership on pricing strategy, margin objectives, and market development priorities.
Required
  • 3+ years of experience in technical sales, business development, account management, or territory sales.
  • Strong prospecting, relationship management, and consultative selling skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently within the assigned territory.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to understand technical products, customer requirements, and project-specific commercial considerations.
  •  Self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing a territory independently.
  • Strong professional presence with customers, engineers, contractors, and utility stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with municipal utilities, industrial water treatment, consulting engineers, or contractor-led infrastructure projects.
