As a personal lines underwriter, your duties are to gather information about your customer’s lives and analyze their risk factors to decide whether they qualify for your services. You analyze occupational risks, tax and credit histories, and financial history. The career has several qualifications, including a bachelor’s degree in a field such as accounting or business administration, and experience in the insurance industry.
