Position Summary

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Personal Lines Customer Service Representative to join our team. In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for our personal lines clients, helping them with policy questions, changes, billing inquiries, claims support, and coverage reviews. You’ll play a vital role in delivering the neighborly, personalized service our clients have come to expect from McGrath Insurance Group.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the main point of contact for personal lines clients, providing prompt and professional service via phone, email, and in person

• Process policy changes, endorsements, renewals, and cancellations accurately and efficiently

• Assist clients with billing questions, payment processing, and account inquiries

• Support clients through the claims process by reporting new claims, following up on claim status, and acting as a liaison with carriers

• Review existing policies with clients to identify coverage gaps and recommend appropriate solutions

• Prepare and process certificates of insurance, auto ID cards, and other policy documents

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in the agency management system

• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, carrier representatives, and team members

• Cross-sell and upsell additional lines of coverage when appropriate (e.g., umbrella, flood, valuable possessions)

• Stay current on carrier guidelines, underwriting requirements, and industry regulations

• Assist with marketing efforts and client retention initiatives as needed

Qualifications

• Missouri Property & Casualty insurance license (required, or willingness to obtain within 60 days of hire)

• 1–3 years of experience in personal lines insurance customer service preferred

• Familiarity with agency management systems (e.g., EZLynx, Applied, HawkSoft) is a plus

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities

• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and general computer skills

• A genuine desire to help people and provide outstanding customer service

• Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
