Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week
Shift Schedule: Monday–Friday
• 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM or
• 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
On-Call: Not required
Weekend Requirements: None
Dress Code: Professional business attire

Pay Details

  • Rate: Local $76/hour = Gross weekly $2736 and Travelers $48/hour on W2 and $1450/40 hours (Per Diem)= Gross weekly $3370
  • Local or Travel Candidates: Open to both

Job Description

In this leadership role, you’ll oversee all aspects of Health Information Management (HIM), ensuring compliance, privacy, and operational effectiveness across the department. Core duties include:

  • Leading HIM operations and strategic planning aligned with hospital goals
  • Managing the HIM department budget and supervising staff
  • Overseeing medical records processes including coding, billing, and documentation review
  • Serving as the hospital’s Privacy Officer, ensuring HIPAA and compliance training is delivered and privacy investigations are conducted
  • Acting as custodian of records for legal matters and regulatory audits
  • Running operational audits, reviewing chart accuracy, and enhancing HIM workflows
  • Providing reports and data analysis to leadership and other departments
  • Serving as Chair of the Forms Committee and Secretary for the Medical Staff

Requirements

  • Education: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management – Required
  • Certifications:
    • RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) – Required
    • RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) – Required
    • CPC (Certified Professional Coder) – Preferred
  • Experience:
    • 2–3 years of experience in a management-level HIM position – Required
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership, regulatory knowledge, analytical thinking, and excellent communication
