Job description

Job Description
Under general supervision, runs payroll cycles, balances and reconciles payroll amounts, and verify payroll data. Assist in balancing and reconciliation of payroll-related general ledger accounts. Prepare journal entries as needed. Responsible for compiling periodic and special reports for internal and external sources. Process client responsible taxes as needed.
Testing, set-up and maintenance on earnings codes, deduction codes, and imports into the payroll system. Complete the Oracle to Ceridian comparison differences to keep the systems in sync. Continue system education in Ceridian DayForce. Responsible for the garnishment process working with the payroll provider.
Fix the Payroll Audit and Wage and Tax report differences each payroll. Assist with the month-end entity balancing of Payroll Register to W2s. Assist in quarter end and year end balancing.
Cross train on all functions in order to be a back-up.
Responsibilities
*1. Input data into the payroll system as needed. Verifies accuracy of manual data entry through balancing and performing the comparison for differences.
*2. Run payroll cycles according to payroll schedule. Resolve out-of-balance conditions through research.
*3. Assist Payroll Manager in reconciliation of the General Ledger and prepare the Journal Entries as required.
*4. Assist in testing functionality when upgrades occur. Assist in year-end and year-begin processes.
*5. Prepare SOPs for all functions performed to process a payroll.
*6. Perform testing, setup and maintenance on earning codes, deduction codes and imports.
*7. Process the garnishments with the payroll provider. Communicate with employees as needed.
*8. Perform tax registrations as needed.
*9. Continue education of payroll system through On-Demand webinars and participate in XOXO.
*10. Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct, and follow all physical and digital security practices.
*11. Performs other duties as directed.
Qualifications
University Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline plus generally five years directly related experience.
Demonstrated ability to accurately balance payroll items.
Working knowledge of payroll practices and procedures.
Working knowledge of Payroll/HRIS systems including report writing.
Working knowledge of accounting practices.
Expert knowledge of federal, state and local tax codes.
Total Rewards: We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. The estimated salary range for this position is $53,700 to $71,500 and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 10% of the base salary. This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country. We also provide full-time employees with paid time off including vacation (15 days), Holidays (9 days), Personal days (3 days) and sick time off (72 hours).
