Hiring Range

$16.20 - $21.08/Hourly Actual pay is determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs.

Part Time Days Available
This position works under the supervision of the Nurse Manager and Registered Nurses and the under the direction of the Nurse Manager, Registered Nurse and Licensed Practical Nurse. The Unit Secretary is responsible for customer service, chart management, retrieval of reports, and patient care duties. The Unit Secretary is also responsible for performing duties such as ordering supplies, order entry, filing of patient information and follow up to patients and physician offices, and other secretarial/clerical duties as directed.
What you will do

  • Responsible for accurate and timely order entry, retrieving testing results, researching CPOE ensuring correct order entry and medical record management to ensure organized medical record maintenance. Prioritizes workload and accurately completes daily duties.
  • Navigates systems to access patient information to facilitate transfers. Utilizes systems proficiently to communicate and order supplies, forms etc.
  • Demonstrates understanding of diverse patient care populations served within the community.
  • Answers phone in a timely manner using appropriate phone etiquette skills and screens calls appropriately to support a positive service experience. Functions as an advocate for positive customer service as the greeter of the unit.
  • Maintains clean, safe, and orderly work environment by cleaning work stations/areas, equipment; stocking supplies; placing equipment in proper storage areas.
  • Promotes team work by working effectively as a team member as well as independently. Seeks assistance as needed. Consistently keeps team informed of changes as they arise, working closely with all team members to provide quality care and customer service.

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED, (Preferred)


Experience

  • 1 year Clerical experience in a healthcare setting (Preferred)
