People Development Specialist

At Valley Presbyterian Hospital, developing our people is key to delivering exceptional care. We're seeking a dynamic People Development Specialist to design and deliver impactful learning programs, strengthen leadership capability, and support career growth across the organization.
What You'll Do
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify skill gaps and development priorities
  • Design and deliver training programs, workshops, and leadership development initiatives
  • Facilitate engaging in-person and virtual learning sessions
  • Manage and optimize the Learning Management System (LMS), including course creation, tracking, and reporting
  • Partner with HR and business leaders to align learning initiatives with organizational goals
  • Evaluate training effectiveness using feedback, assessments, and data insights
  • Support onboarding and ongoing employee development programs
  • Assist in building career pathing frameworks and internal mobility initiatives
  • Develop training materials, job aids, and facilitator guides
  • Stay current on learning trends and best practices in instructional design

What You Bring
  • 3+ years of experience in learning and development, training, or organizational development
  • Experience designing and facilitating training for diverse audiences
  • Hands-on experience managing an LMS
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable learning strategies
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to partner across teams

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Organizational Development, Education, Business, or related field
  • Ability to obtain LA City Fire Card within 30 days

Preferred
  • SHRM-CP / SHRM-SCP
  • CPTD or similar learning and development certification
