Position Purpose
The Marketing and Communication Specialist (The Specialist) coordinates marketing intake and supports the development, management and distribution of internal communications across multiple channels. The Specialist uses project management skills in support of several key communication channels, contributing to the company's internal communications strategy, creating content for various messages and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver clear, consistent messaging and enhance employee engagement. Serving as the first point of contact for marketing requests, The Specialist ensures minimum viable requirements are in place and helps set expectations for the requesters, working with the project managers and regional marketing managers to ensure projects are properly scoped, on schedule and aligned with brand standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
  • Manages the intranet News Hub (EHC 360)
    • Maintains the editorial schedule
    • Drafts new content and/or edits submitted content to promote one consistent voice in messaging
    • Archives posted content
  • Manages Marketing and Communications departmental intranet site and resource hub to ensure internal audiences have access to relevant and accurate information about resources available through the department
    • Posts relevant site content
    • Performs periodic content audits
    • Sources feedback to maintain the site to meet employee and company leadership needs
  • Uses email distribution software to format various department newsletters and one-off messages
    • Drafts new content and/or edits submitted content to promote one consistent voice in messaging
    • Formats content to meet brand standards
    • Proofs content to relevant stakeholders
    • Schedules approved newsletters and messages for distribution to relevant audiences
  • Monitors and responds to questions, suggestions and concerns submitted through feedback hotlines
    • Collaborates with home office departments as appropriate to develop responses
  • Maintains Home Office digital signage content rotation and coordinates supporting graphics
  • Manages internal communications editorial content planner
  • Develops communication plans to align with Company initiative campaigns
  • Serves as first point of contact for incoming marketing requests
    • Verifies that all necessary assets, copy points and minimum viable requirements are provided before work begins
    • Follows up with requesters to ask clarifying questions or gather missing details as needed
    • Informs requesters of project timelines, delivery dates and potential blockers
    • Pushes back respectfully or renegotiates deadlines if a request falls outside of the agreed scope
  • Supports other Marketing and Communications projects as needed
  • This position must sit at our Home Office in Birmingham, AL

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in communications or related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in communications or related field
  • Project Management experience preferred
