As a full-time Internal Communication Specialist in the Marketing department at Aalberts, you will own and execute our internal messaging channels and experiences. This role will work closely with People & Culture and senior leadership to keep our workforce informed, engaged, and inspired – while ensuring consistency with our brand voice and values.

The Internal Communication Specialist is responsible for creating and managing employee-facing messages across channels such as the intranet, newsletters, internal campaigns, in-person town halls, Viva Engage, companywide announcements. The role requires strong writing, creativity, and a thoughtful approach to ensure clear, professional communication that supports a positive workplace culture. This role will collaborate closely with People and Culture and leadership to support internal initiatives and events and the Marketing team to uphold brand standards.

your challenge

  • Create and manage internal communications across all employee communication channels including and not limited to Viva Engage, internal newsletters, digital signage, email announcements, and other employee communication platforms.
  • Manage the internal communications calendar and oversee the company intranet as the main source for employee news, updates and resources.
  • Lead and manage content for company town halls, onsite and virtual, including leadership messaging, presentations, event flow, employee communications and follow-ups.
  • Support the planning and communications for internal events and campaigns including leadership messages, trainings, company updates, holidays, and appreciation weeks.
  • Ensure messaging aligns with company values, culture, tone, and business priorities while creating clear, engaging communications for leaders and stakeholders.
  • Manage multiple internal communication projects, helping prioritize tasks and ensure work is completed accurately and on time.
  • Create printed and digital employee facing materials, including posters, slides, digital signage, one-pagers, handouts, and campaign graphics, while ensuring all materials follow company brand standards.
  • Support internal teams by developing clear messaging, identifying appropriate audiences, gathering content, and ensuring employees receive accurate, complete and timely information.
  • Develop, track and report key KPIs related to internal communication engagement, employee feedback, and performance metrics to evaluate effectiveness and recommend improvements to employee communication channels.
  • Strengthen employee awareness, connection, and engagement by ensuring key messages are accessible, consistent, and relevant across the organization.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned by your manager and the VP, People and Culture.

requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Human Resources or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in internal communications, corporate communications, employee communications, or a related field.
  • Proven strong writing, proofreading, and editing skills with the ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and professional tone.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite.
  • Experience managing intranet CMS systems and maintaining organized, current employee-facing digital platforms including strategy, message coordination and timely delivery.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Experience creating materials in Canva.
  • Experience managing and running internal company events.
  • Successful execution of project management skills with the ability to manage deadlines, organize priorities, and balance multiple projects at once.
  • Highly collaborative, organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in managing communication needs across internal teams.
  • Strong understanding of brand consistency, corporate tone of voice, and visual identity standards.

  • Communicate effectively in person, over the phone, and via digital platforms to exchange information with employees, HR, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain and update intranet, email, and other digital communication platforms to ensure timely and accurate information sharing.
  • Create, write, and edit clear and accurate internal communications materials, including newsletters, announcements, handbooks, intranet content, and event materials, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Prepare, design, and distribute employee-facing communications and event materials using digital and print tools.
  • Collaborate with P&C and Marketing teams to ensure all communications align with company branding, tone, and visual identity.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to support employee engagement initiatives and ensure organizational messaging consistency.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of employee engagement events and activities, including preparing materials and coordinating logistics.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple communication projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Operate standard office equipment and software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, content management systems).
  • Organize and maintain records of communication activities and feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain consistent and reliable attendance, including participation in meetings and events as required.
  • Work hybrid schedule with a minimum of 3 days in office.
