About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Internal Communications contractor to support our Internal Communications team for approximately 12 weeks. This project-based opportunity offers hands-on experience in employee communications within a fast-paced biotech environment. The contractor will work closely with the Senior Manager of Organizational Effectiveness to help maintain and improve internal communication channels, with a particular focus on the company intranet, visual work such as overhauling PowerPoint templates, documentation of communications processes, and drafting employee-facing content. This role can be performed remotely.
This role is ideal for an entry-level communications professional looking to grow their experience in corporate communications, employee engagement, digital communications, or human resources.
Key Responsibilities

  • Document internal communications processes, workflows, and best practices to support consistency and scalability
  • Assistwith managing andmaintainingthe company intranet, including updating content and ensuring information isaccurateand easy to find
  • Analyze intranet usage and structure, and make recommendations to improve layout, navigation, and employee engagement
  • Draft, edit, and proofread internal communications such as announcements,PowerPoint decks,emails, intranet posts, and leadership messages
  • Support content planning and organization for internal campaigns, initiatives, and events
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., HR, IT, and leadership) to gather information and ensuretimelycommunication
  • Perform other communications-related tasks andprojectsassigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field. Will also accept well-qualified college students pursuing their degree in any of these fields.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to organize information clearly and write for a professional, internal audience
  • Familiarity with content management systems, intranets, or digital platforms is a plus
  • Interest in internal communications, employee engagement, or corporate communications
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently as well as collaboratively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace required
