Job description

NorthStar Memorial Group is seeking a Part-Time Reception Attendant to join our team at Mililani Mortuary. The Reception Attendant supports location management by ensuring a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for families and guests during memorial services. This role focuses on preparing and maintaining the dining area, providing refreshments, and assisting with general facility upkeep. The Reception Attendant plays an important part in delivering compassionate service and maintaining the dignity and respect of the funeral home environment.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain the dining room area, including setting up refreshments (coffee, water, juice) and cleaning before and after services.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety throughout the facility, including sweeping, mopping, wiping surfaces, vacuuming, and emptying trash.
  • Delivers event-related supplies such as water stations, signage, and materials to assigned locations.
  • Maintains cleanliness and readiness of banquet spaces and surrounding areas.
  • Assists servers by clearing tables, refreshing setups, and replenishing guest amenities.
  • Transports linens, banquet ware, and equipment between storage and event spaces.
  • Reports damaged furniture, malfunctioning equipment, or safety hazards to supervisors.
  • Responds to guest or team requests during events with courtesy and urgency.
  • Follows venue safety and sanitation protocols during setup, service, and breakdown.
  • Performs side duties including cleaning restrooms, polishing glassware, or folding napkins.
  • Support funeral directors during on-site events, including services and arrangement conferences.
  • Maintain facility areas (excluding preparation rooms) to ensure a professional and respectful environment.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with families, demonstrating compassion and professionalism.
  • Uphold reverence and respect for the deceased at all times.

Compensation of $16/hr.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
  • Funeral profession experience preferred
