Pet Insurance & Donor Fund Coordinator

Join MSPCAโ€“Angell in a role where compassion meets expertise. As the Insurance & Donor Fund Coordinator at Angell Animal Medical Center, you'll help clients understand their pet insurance options, provide veterinary teams with clear financial information, and ensure donor-supported care reaches the animals and people who need it most. You'll also have the opportunity to earn your Insurance Adviser and Producer (Property & Casualty) licenses within your first year, fully sponsored and paid for by MSPCAโ€“Angell. What You'll Do:

  • Lead Pet Insurance Guidance & Administration
  • Provide expert support on pet insurance plans, coverage options, and claims
  • Assist clients and veterinarians with insurance claims, appeals, and documentation
  • Maintain knowledge of recommended and non-recommended insurance plans
  • Serve as the primary contact for insurance company representatives
  • Evaluate partnership requests and maintain vendor relationships
  • Educate staff, including veterinarians, on insurance workflows and client communication
  • Maintain and distribute insurance marketing materials
  • Coordinate Donor Funds With Accuracy & Compassion
  • Identify clients who meet criteria for donor-supported financial assistance
  • Screen clients for eligibility and collect required documentation
  • Upload release forms, photos, and financial paperwork into the electronic medical records (EMR) system
  • Provide guidance to staff on donor fund availability and qualification criteria
  • Support the hospital's Chief of Staff in applying donor funds accurately and efficiently
  • Support Hospital Operations Through Data & Reporting
  • Pull, analyze, and report data from the EMR
  • Track insurance utilization, claim outcomes, and donor fund distribution
  • Prepare reports for hospital leadership to support program evaluation and planning

What You Bring:

  • Required: Candidate must obtain the Insurance Adviser and Insurance Producer (Property & Casualty) licenses within one year of employment. (MSPCAโ€“Angell fully funds the licensing process, covering all related training and exam costs.)
  • 2+ years of experience in a veterinary or medical hospital client service role
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to explain complex insurance and financial concepts clearly
  • Proficiency with EMRs, data reporting, and documentation
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, client-centered environment
  • A genuine passion for helping animals and the people who love them
  • Preferred: Active Insurance Adviser and Insurance Producer (Property & Casualty) licenses
  • Experience with insurance contracts, claims, and appeals
  • Experience in insurance administration, claims processing, or financial assistance programs
  • Familiarity with veterinary insurance or medical insurance workflows and front desk operations
