A Receptionist welcomes visitors to the facility by greeting them, in person or on the telephone, directs visitors by maintaining employee and department directories, and maintains security by following visitor/resident procedures.

Receptionist Essential Job Functions:

• Answers phone lines and operates a switchboard.

• Routes calls to facility departments.

• Takes and relays messages to facility departments.

• Sends emails and faxes.

 • Greets visitors warmly and ensures they are comfortable.

• Ensures reception is tidy.

 • Coordinates mail flow in and out of the facility.

• Performs basic bookkeeping, filing, and clerical duties.

• Assists Business Office Manager with accounts payable receipts.

• Hands out employment applications.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

• Ability to organize, multitask, prioritize, and work under pressure

• Prior work experience handling receptionist responsibilities is preferred
